At its height, Overwatch possessed one of the most advanced armaments on the planet, which could be traced to the workshop of an ingenious engineer named Torbjörn Lindholm.

SHIFT
Deploy a self-building turret that automatically tracks and attacks enemies. Deals 12 damage per shot at 4 shots per second, 225 HP, 40 meter attack range. 5 second cooldown (12 seconds if destroyed in combat). Turret targets enemy hit by primary fire if in range.

E
Gain 100 overhealth and improved attack, movement (+30%), and reload speed for 6 seconds. Increases primary fire rate to 2.5 shots/s and secondary to 2 shots/s. Restores 6 ammo on activation. 10 second cooldown.

ULTIMATE
Create up to 10 pools of molten slag that deal 190 damage per second (290 vs armor) for 10 seconds. Pools have 2.4 meter radius. 2350 point ultimate cost.
PASSIVE
Dealing damage reduces enemy healing received by 20% for 2 seconds.
PRIMARY
Multipurpose hammer that repairs turrets for 50 HP per swing or damages enemies for 70 damage. Swings approximately every 0.7 seconds. 2.5 meter range.

Developer comment: We'd like to make the turret more effective without increasing its damage. It now builds more quickly to better enable repositioning it for a faster pace of gameplay.

Developer comment: We've also fixed a grievous oversight from moving to larger health pools and Torbjörn's Forge Hammer will strike fear into his enemies once again.

Developer comment: This shift in armor health for Torbjorn is to increase survivability against the heroes which are most affected by armor's damage reduction, such as Tracer.

Developer comment: The health decrease on Overload severely impacted Torbjorn's overall effectiveness so we're reverting that change.

Primary fire recovery increased from 0.48 to 0.51 seconds.
Developer comment: Torbjorn's Rivet Gun can feel overwhelming with how quickly it shoots. This change reduces the firing cadence and makes it more manageable on the receiving end.
(Co-op) Turret damage increased from 11 to 15.
Primary fire recovery time reduced from 0.55 to 0.48 seconds. Weapon swap time reduced from 0.5 to 0.4 seconds.
Developer comment: We are continuing to add power into the Rivet Gun, as the previous changes didn't quite make up for the turret damage decrease.
Forge Hammer swing recovery time reduced from 0.75 to 0.6 seconds.
Developer comment: We are also improving the Forge Hammer swing speed so that it is more effective to repair a turret while it is under fire.

Developer comment: Torbjörn's Turret has a bit too much impact for little investment, so we are shifting some of its power to the rest of his kit to reward more accurate gunplay.

Developer comment: With the move to 5v5 and one less player to shoot at it, Torbjorn's turret tends to survive longer than ever. We're reducing its health slightly to help it feel less like a sixth player and be easier to deal with once someone turns their attention to it.

Developer comment: This change to Torbjörn's secondary fire is aimed at giving it a stronger role at close range. We're hoping this change allows each shot to feel more impactful, since it has a larger burst. To keep this change in line, we've also reduced the damage-per-second.
Cooldown decreased from 12 to 10 seconds.
Developer comment: Torbjörn has difficulty in extended team fights once his turret is eliminated and Overload has been used. This change allows Torbjörn to be able to rely on his Overload more often.
Ultimate cost reduced 10%.
Damage per pellet reduced from 12.5 to 10.5 (105 total per shot).
Developer comment: The combined damage output of Torbjörn's secondary fire with his Overload ability was too high given his recently increased survivability.
Base health increased by 50 armor (250 maximum health). Overload armor gain reduced from 150 to 100.
Developer comment: Torbjörn's survivability was a bit low, so we've shifted some power from his Overload ability to his base health.
Damage increased from 130 to 160 per second.
Developer comment: While the Molten Core damage pools were intended to provide players with tools for area denial, they weren't proving threatening enough to deter enemies for a significant amount of time because their damage was too low.
Reworked. Deploy Turret is now a thrown projectile that auto-builds in 3 seconds (single level, 250 HP, 5s deploy/10s combat cooldown). Armor Pack replaced by new ability Overload (5s duration, 150 armor, 30% attack/movement/reload speed). New ultimate Molten Core: fire up to 10 molten globules creating damage pools (130 DPS, 190 vs armor). Rivet Gun primary fire projectile speed increased (60→70), reload reduced (2.2→2s), now marks targets for turret. Alternate fire recovery reduced (0.8→0.6s), damage reduced (150→125 total). Head hit volume reduced by 10%. Forge Hammer radius increased to match Quick Melee.
Developer comment: Torbjörn was initially designed to be a specialized hero, intended to be a strong defensive option due to his armor-generating capabilities and ability to control areas with his turret. However, the scrap collecting and Armor Pack mechanics have proven to cause problematic gameplay issues because of their feast or famine nature. To make him more flexible in a wide variety of situations, we've removed the scrap system, made the turret much easier to deploy, replaced the Armor Pack ability with Overload—a powerful self-buff—and transformed Molten Core into a powerful new area denial ultimate ability.
Ammo is now loaded earlier in the reload animation.
Scrap Collector now automatically generates scrap over time. Scrap collected from fallen enemies decreased by 40%. Forge Hammer swing speed increased by 25%, damage decreased by 27%.
Developer comment: Armor Packs have always been a powerful tool in Torbjörn's arsenal, but it was often difficult to gather enough scrap to give your team a legitimate boost when they needed it. Conversely, if a team held on long enough, the scrap collected from fallen enemies was often able to generate so many armor packs that enemy teams had a difficult time turning the tide. Automatically generating scrap over time helps smooth out these differences and makes Torbjörn more viable. His hammer swing speed was increased to help him construct level 2 turrets more quickly.
