Developer comment: With the current addition of more speed boosts in the game, Zenyatta has fallen off a bit due to how immobile and vulnerable he can be. We've tried increasing his health in the past but it's proven problematic, so instead we're leaning into his glass-cannon nature.

Developer comment: We're reducing the cost of Transcendence as Zenyatta was impacted more than most by some of the changes in this patch.
Knockback decreased 25%.

Developer comment: The goal of these changes is to add more counterplay against Discord Orb and encourage Zenyatta players to think more about who to place it on.

Developer comment: The combination of these changes will make it riskier for Zenyatta to apply Discord and increase counterplay for the affected target.
Ammo increased from 20 to 25.
Developer comment: We've been discussing options to potentially increase Zenyatta's survivability. To balance his powerful damage output, the lack of mobility is an intentional disadvantage by design, so we'd prefer not to change that too much. Instead, we're adding more ammo to lengthen the times between when Zenyatta is most vulnerable, which is when he is reloading.

(Beta) Base shields increased from 150 to 175. New Passive Ability: Snap Kick — increases Quick melee damage by 50% and significantly increases its knockback.
Developer comment: Zenyatta has trouble fighting at close range, so he was at a disadvantage if an enemy flanked or jumped on top of him. His new passive, Snap Kick, will help him create space and put enemies at his fighting range.
Damage amplification reduced from 30% to 25%.
Projectile speed reduced from 120 to 90. Also applies to Orb of Discord.
Developer comment: Zenyatta has been a bit too effective at enabling team-wide damage output lately so we're taking some power out of the Orb of Discord.
Secondary fire charge rate increased 15% (0.6 down to 0.52 seconds per orb). Rate of fire increased from 8.5 to 9 shots per second.
Developer comment: Zenyatta has low healing and mobility outside of his ultimate but makes up for it with high potential damage output. With the recently lowered barrier uptime resulting in an overall faster pace of the game, we want to make sure Zenyatta still excels at his strengths.

Developer comment: Zenyatta's Orb of Discord makes him a nearly irreplaceable support hero on your team. We're reducing its impact for Zenyatta's team, but increasing the potency of the Orb of Destruction to compensate.

Developer comment: Zenyatta is meant to be able to deal a lot of damage, especially for a support, but his alternate fire burst damage was a bit too high.
Orb of Discord and Orb of Harmony will now display its target's health bar.
Alternate fire cooldown reduced from 1 to 0.6 seconds. Weapon spread removed.
Developer comment: Zenyatta's alternate fire often felt too difficult to use due to its long recovery time. This reduction should make it a more viable option.
Damage amplification decreased from 50% to 30%.
Developer comment: Zenyatta is in a far better place since the last update, but the strength of Orb of Discord has turned him into an almost mandatory pick.
Damage increased from 40 to 46.
When activating Needs Healing communication while targeting a teammate, Zenyatta will now tell allies to group up to receive healing.
Projectile speed increased from 30 to 120. Also applies to Orb of Harmony.
Movement speed is now doubled upon activation. Healing amount increased from 200 to 300 health per second.
Primary fire damage decreased from 45 to 40. Alternate fire damage increased from 35 to 40.
Base shields increased by 50 (now 50 Health/150 Shield).
Developer comment: While Zenyatta has never had the healing abilities of Lucio or Mercy, he made up for it by dealing more damage. However, his lack of mobility and low health has meant he's struggled to find a place in many games.
